You are welcome to enjoy the Gold medal in 1600 M relay today. USA takes a clear lead in this events .

From Yahoo sports news-
This time, Sanya Richards had the kick to bring home the gold.

With a late surge by Richards, the United States won the women’s 1,600-meter relay on Saturday.

It was the fourth straight victory in the event for the Americans, who were forced to vacate their title from Sydney following Marion Jones admittance to drug use.

Richards teamed up with Allyson Felix, Mary Wineberg and Monique Henderson to claim the U.S. first relay medal, notching a winning time of three minutes, 18.54 seconds.

Both the men’s and women’s teams failed to make it into the final of the 400 relay earlier this week.

After failing to hold her lead against Great Britain’s Christine Ohuruogu in the 400 on Tuesday, Richards had the legs to chase down Russia’s Anastasia Kapachinskaya down the final stretch.

The Russians finished with the silver, while Jamaica took bronze.

In the men’s 5,000 meters, Ethiopia’s Kenenisa Bekele completed a long-distance double by claiming gold in 12 minutes, 57.82 seconds.

It was a Olympic record time, breaking the previous mark of 13:05.59 set by Morocco’s Said Aouita at Los Angeles in 1984.
